Desirée Britton
(Desirée Michelle Britton (she/her)), B.AS., CNP, MACP, RP (Qualifying)
Desirée Britton is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and the founder of Avaiya Integrative Clinic; a space created for individuals and couples seeking compassionate, trauma-informed therapy that honours the complexity of the human experience. Her work is grounded in a deep respect for the ways our emotional lives, relationships, and nervous system patterns are influenced by the contexts we move through.
Desirée’s path to psychotherapy was informed by both professional training and lived experience. Like many of the people she works with, she has known seasons of disconnection and challenge. These experiences continue to guide the way she shows up in the therapy room — with warmth, curiosity, compassion, and a steady belief in people’s capacity for meaningful change when they feel truly understood.
Her therapeutic approach is relational, integrative, and paced. She supports clients in unlearning patterns of self-silencing, emotional burnout, and chronic responsibility, helping them reconnect with their needs, boundaries, and sense of self. Desirée works collaboratively, drawing on evidence-informed modalities and nervous system-aware care to support healing that feels sustainable rather than forced.
Throughout her clinical work, Desirée has supported individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, body dysmorphia, trauma and complex trauma responses, relational challenges, longstanding marital conflict, complex family dynamics, identity exploration, grief and loss, and life transitions. She is particularly attuned to the subtle ways trauma can live in the body and in relationships, and she prioritises safety, consent, and attunement in the therapeutic process.

Relational, trauma-informed, and integrative care that meets you where you are—and supports where you’re going.
Trained and registered in Ontario, Canada, Desirée is guided by professional standards that emphasise ethical practice, reflective growth, and relational depth. She founded Avaiya Integrative Clinic with the intention of creating a practice that feels both clinically grounded and deeply human — a place where therapy is not rushed, pathologised, or reduced to techniques, but experienced as a collaborative and respectful process, with genuine care at its heart.
In addition to her clinical work, Desirée collaborates with organisations, professional corporations, and communities to offer workshops and speaking engagements focused on mental health, burnout recovery, nervous system regulation, and relational wellbeing.
If you’re seeking therapy that honours your full story — mind, body, and lived experience — you are warmly welcomed here.
